The BE-SAFE Starting Grant brought together transportation engineering, psychology, telecommunications, computer science and urban planning to create an integrated approach to cyclist safety. The project was completed successfully in September 2026.
Integrated Cyclist Safety Framework
The main project result connects spatial accident intelligence, cyclist profiling, IoT/V2X monitoring and SUMO-based digital simulation in a continuous knowledge ecosystem. This creates a route from descriptive and predictive analysis towards prescriptive and adaptive safety management.
